Анатолій Шопін – людина, ім'я якої мені важко вимовляти без болю. Це людина, яка закрила свій талант від людського погляду і не має жодного бажання її пред'являти. Скільки не було зроблено нами, щоб познайомити з його творчістю світ, наші спроби виявилися марними.

Будинок Шопіна завалений, інакше не сказати, справжніми витворами мистецтва, але Анатолію тільки всього й потрібно, щоб до нього прийшов клієнт і купив, причому, як він каже «дорожче, ніж меблі», а більше його не цікавить. 

Коли раніше ми заїжджали до нього, то заворожено розглядали нові та нові роботи. Цікаво, як показуючи роботи він примовляв, що він просто копііст, він копіює, що Господь відкриває йому. 

І справді здається, що Анатолій сам пам'ятає, що становить суть картин, показуючи нам, він щиро дивується з того що бачить. Це й справді створює ілюзію того, що він копіює, настроївшись на несвідому передачу Господніх посилань.

У нашому місті проживають прекрасні люди – це подружжя Іванових – Людмила Вікторівна та Володимир Григорович. Володимир Григорович довгий час керував Південним портом. А Людмила Вікторівна колекціонувала живопис. Коли я розповіла їм про Шопіна, і не просто розповіла, а повезла до нього. Ознайомившись з його творчістю вони запропонували побудувати в м. Південному галерею, де експонувалися б роботи Шопіна, видати альбом з репродукціями його робіт, та навіть запропонували квартиру в Южному, на що Анатолій сказав, що він ні чого не потребує, ось мовляв дочки моєї може бути і потрібно, а мені ні! Єдине, що було важливим для нього, це те, щоб вони купили в цей момент роботу. Багато років тому Володимир Асрієв вивіз до Лондона картини Шопіна і виставив їх на аукціоні Філіпс, і ось весь цей час, Шопін показує всім каталог аукціону та вартість роботи, і встановлює на них нечувані ціни. Природно, мало хто може дозволити собі купити роботи художника за такі немислимі ціни, тому будинок його сповнений картин і один бог знає, яка доля їх чекає.

Така дивна людина, що спогад про неї мене ранить. А роботу «Одеську Аркадію», яку ми придбали на початку 90-х, любить уся наша родина і вона просто мешкає з нами.

Anatoly Shopin is a man whose name is hard for me to pronounce without pain. This is a man who has closed his talent from the public eye and has no desire to show it. No matter how much we have done to introduce his work to the world, our attempts have been in vain.

Shopin's house is littered, there is no other way to say it, with real works of art, but all Anatoly needs is for a client to come to him and buy, and, as he says, "more expensive than furniture," and he is not interested in more.

When we used to visit him, we were fascinated by the new and new works. It is interesting how, showing his works, he would say that he is simply a copyist; he copies what the Lord reveals to him.

And it really seems that Anatoly himself does not remember what constitutes the essence of the paintings, showing us, he is sincerely surprised by what he sees. This really creates the illusion that he is copying, tuned in to the unconscious transmission of God's messages.

In our city live wonderful people - the Ivanov couple - Lyudmila Viktorovna and Vladimir Grigorievich. Vladimir Grigorievich managed the port of Yuzhny for a long time. And Lyudmila Viktorovna collected paintings. When I told them about Shopin, and not just told them, but took them to him. Having familiarized themselves with his work, they offered to build a gallery in Yuzhny, where Shopin's works would be exhibited, to publish an album with reproductions of his works, and even offered an apartment in Yuzhny, to which Anatoly said that he did not need anything, like, maybe my daughter needs it, but I do not! The only thing that was important to him was that they would buy the work at that moment. Many years ago, Vladimir Asriev brought Chopin's paintings to London and put them up for auction at Phillips, and all this time, Chopin has been showing everyone the auction catalogue and the cost of the work, and setting fabulous prices for them. Naturally, few can afford to buy the artist's works for such unthinkable prices, so his house is full of paintings, and only God knows what fate awaits them.

Such a strange person that the memory of him hurts me. And the work "Odesa's Arcadia", which we bought in the early 90s, is loved by our entire family and simply lives with us.
