У галереї відбулася гучна та яскрава виставка Олени Іллічової та Алли Чакір. Олена Іллічова була першою бізнес-леді серед художників, вони з чоловіком Володимиром відкрили бар на Пастера. Вона почала робити виставки в барі, мені тоді здавалося що це рні сумісне!

У якийсь час я переживала про стосунки з художниками, мені здавалося, що все, що відбувається, протидіє діяльності галереї. У цей час, коли вже будувалася галерея на морвокзалі відносини та загальна політика одеської, мистецької тусовки, була зовсім не на боці інтересів галереї.

Це дуже дивно, тому що жодного разу за весь час історії галереї ми не тільки не образили жодного художника, а вважаю, що принесли багато користі всім, хто з нами співпрацював. Але в Одесі, втім, і в Україні існує одне незмінне поняття – ЖАБА. Саме тоді я вигадала проект. Одеса, славна своїм «гумором», має виступити ініціатором всеукраїнського руху зі зведення пам'ятника Жабі – нашій національній межі.

Почати треба було саме в Одесі, я навіть місце визначила – центральний круглий садок на Привокзальній площі, у центрі фонтану! На жаль, цей проект не був втілений, але залишився в пам'яті!

Тоді мій шлях був обраний. Я стала по інший бік, зайняла бік галеристів, втім сьогодні по цей же бік стоять багато хто з вищеназваних - Едуард Порник, Гарольд Ізмайловський, Тетяна Бубновська.

Мій улюблений вірш Анни Ахматової, який був дуже близьким моїм відчуттям того часу:

Дав ти мені тяжку частку,

Стільки сумів у дорозі,

Як же мені душу мізерну

Багатою тобі принести?

Довгу пісню, лестиву

Про славу співає доля.

О, Господи, я недбайлива,

Твоя скупа раба.

Не трояндою, не билинкою

Не буду в садах батька,

Я тремчу над кожною порошинкою

Над кожним словом дурня.

А виставка наших шановних дам була чудовою. Техніка Олени Іллічової, це відточена майстерність - а тонкий наждак, на якому вона виконує свої роботи, дає відчуття бархатистості та реальності. Все кольорове, радісне, що виплескується через рами прямо в галерейний простір, по-справжньому жіночі роботи.

А поруч керамічні рельєфи Алли Чакір - витончені форми з найдавнішого художнього матеріалу-кераміки, матеріалу настільки живого та натурального, що навіть важко собі уявити! Особи багатьох персонажів рельєфів Алли вкриті масками. Хто вони актори чи вершителі доль? Що веде життя героїв її сюжетів, отже, і її саму? Брехливі картини буття чи почуття і відчуття їхньої душі, ті відчуття, які подарувала природа, наша мати і прародителька?

Проходить галаслива презентація, розходяться гості, а роботи залишаються в галереї, мирно і відповідально виконуючи функцію творів мистецтва - вони дарують нам і всім тим, хто приходить своє тепло, насолоджуючи наші душі. А потім усі кажуть-яка незвичайна атмосфера на Уютной!!!

Як я зараз виявила – пам'ятник Жабі так і звели, але не в Одесі, а у Києві у 2010 році!

The gallery hosted a loud and bright exhibition of Lena Ilyicheva and Alla Chakir. Lena Ilyicheva was the first business lady among artists, she and her husband Vladimir opened a bar on Pasteur street. And I think that it was she who began to manage the exodus of artists from Uyutnaya. She began to do exhibitions in the bar, it seemed to me then that this was incompatible!

At some time, I was worried about relationships with artists, it seemed to me that everything that was happening was counteracting the activities of the gallery. At that time, when the gallery was already being built at the seaport, the relations and general policy of the Odessa artistic crowd were not at all on the side of the interests of the gallery.

This is very strange, because not once in the entire history of the gallery, not only have we not offended a single artist, but I believe that we have brought a lot of benefit to everyone who collaborated with us. But in Odesa, and in Ukraine, there is one constant and ineradicable concept - TOAD. It was at that time that I came up with the project. Odesa, famous for its "humor", should initiate an all-Ukrainian movement to erect a monument to the Toad - Our National Trait.

It was necessary to start in Odesa, I even chose the place - the central round garden on the Privokzalnaya Square, in the center of the fountain! Unfortunately, this project was not implemented, but remained in the memory!

At that time, my path was chosen. I stood on the other side, took the side of the gallery owners, however, today many of the above-mentioned stand on the same side - Eduard Pornik, Harold Izmailovsky, Tatyana Bubnovskaya. 

My favorite poem by Anna Akhmatova, which was very close to my feelings of that time:

You gave me a difficult lot,

So many sorrows on the way,

How can I bring you a rich soul?

A long song, flattering

Destiny sings of glory.

Oh, Lord, I am careless,

Your stingy slave.

Not a rose, not a blade of grass

I will not be in my father's gardens,

I tremble over every speck of dust

Over every word of a fool.

And the exhibition of our esteemed ladies was wonderful. Lena Ilyicheva's technique is a honed skill - and the fine emery on which she performs her works gives a feeling of velvetiness and reality. Everything is colorful, joyful, splashing out through the frames directly into the gallery space, truly feminine works.

And next to them are Alla Chakir's ceramic reliefs - refined forms made of the most ancient artistic material - ceramics, a material so alive and natural that it is even difficult to imagine! The faces of many of the characters in Alla's reliefs are covered with masks. Who are they - actors or arbiters of fate? What leads the heroes of her stories through life, and therefore her? False pictures of existence or feelings and sensations of their soul, those sensations that nature, our mother and progenitor, has given us?

A noisy presentation takes place, the guests leave, and the works remain in the gallery, peacefully and responsibly fulfilling the function of works of art - they give us and all those who come their warmth, delighting our souls. And then everyone says - what an extraordinary atmosphere at Uyutnaya!!!

As I have just discovered, the monument to the Toad was erected, but not in Odessa, but in Kyiv in 2010!
