Ще я згадала одну смішну історію із життя галереї. Не для кого не секрет, що часто через брак коштів на придбання матеріалів, або через відсутність у продажу таких, митці часто користувалися старими, записаними полотнами. А саме в цей час, коли з комунізмом та його символами було покінчено, можна було дістати портрети колишніх керівників нашого уряду. І я дуже часто вдавалася до такого методу. Прикладів було багато. Одного разу навіть Олександр Адольфович Прокопенко, секретар Одеської ради, допоміг мені з подібними портретами, які зберігалися в підвалах мерії, таким чином вони здобули нове життя, вже як мої твори. Але моїм вдалим придбанням, скоріше не придбанням, а об'єктом обміну, став величезний розміром 2х3 метри портрет В.І.Леніна. Його обміняла на свою невелику роботу в інституті ім. Філатова.

 У цей час галерею стали відвідувати галеристи з Афін – Гераклoс та Леонідас, які досі заходять у гості, досі ми з ними товаришуємо. А на той час вони купували роботи соцреалістичного спрямування. Вони почали просити мене продати їм портрет Леніна, я відмовилася, сказавши, що вони навряд чи зможуть заплатити мені ті гроші, на які я зможу зробити і можливо продати стільки нових робіт. А чи знаєте ви де опинився зараз один із подібних портретів Леніна? У Кейптауні! Його забрала з собою наша Рада.

У той час, розрізавши на шматки, я натягла багато нових полотен і дуже раділа з того, що я зможу написати так багато нових робіт. І тут до галереї входить відвідувач і простий показати йому щось авангардне! Що я роблю! Я виношу йому мої свіжі полотна і представляю як концептуальний проект. Ось, кажу Вам - частини обличчя Ілліча - Ніс, Вуса, Око - чим не актуальний проект!?

And it was at this time, when communism and its symbols were finished, that it was possible to get portraits of former leaders of our government. And I very often resorted to this method. There were many examples. Once even Alexander Adolfovich Prokopenko, secretary of the Odessa Council, helped me with similar portraits that were stored in the basements of the mayor's office, thus, they found a new life, already as my works. But my most successful acquisition, or rather not an acquisition, but an object of exchange, was a huge 2x3 meter portrait of V.I. Lenin. I exchanged it for my small work at the Filatov Institute. At that time, gallery owners from Athens, Herakles, and Leonidas, who still come to visit, and we are still friends, began to visit the gallery. At that time, they were buying works of the socialist realist trend. They began to beg me to sell them a portrait of Lenin, I refused, saying that they would hardly be able to pay me the money for which I could make and perhaps sell so many new works. And do you know where one of these portraits of Lenin has ended up now? In Cape Town!!! Our Rada took it with them. At that time, having cut it into pieces, I stretched many new canvases and was very happy that I would be able to paint so many new works. And then a visitor enters the gallery and just wants to show him something avant-garde! Which is what I do! I bring him my freshly stretched canvases and present them as a conceptual project. Here, I tell you - parts of Ilyich's face - Nose, Mustache, Eye, isn't this a relevant project!?
